LAGO SAN PABLO There are many old roads through villages as one nears the lake. A very colorful car ride around the lake takes about 20 minute. Stop at one of the several hosterias. |

THE LAKES OF MOJANDA 18 kms. from Otavalo. There is no public transport. Well above the tree line and unmarred by even a Coca Cola sign. Great trout fishing! |

CUICOCHA LAKE About 20 minutes from Cotacachi by car (no public transport) one arrives at a truly spectacular setting. An excellent five hour walk around the lake. Don't forget to take your poncho! |

THE SACRED STONE At the base of Taita Imbabura sits a giant boulder said to have been heaved during a mighty competition between the two volcanoes. A complex of Pre Inca walls can be observed around the boulder. It's a tough walk but the views are worth it! |
