"My goal is to promote and to preserve the Otavalan Indian traditions of backstrap weaving through the establishment of an Andean weaving center.  Such an institute would collect and preserve examples of backstrap weaving in the area, provide initiative for Otavalos to continue weaving in the traditional manner and to provide added income to the area's weavers through a weaving school attached to the center."
